Is Reducing The Dosage Of Losartan And Amlodipine Advisable For This BP Level?
Hi Dr Rynne, I have been in amlodipine 5mg for like 15 years. My preasure is normal though I take other medications, but I would like to see If I can lower the dosis and if possible stop using so many. Could you help me in this?I take losartan 100mg one daily, amlodipine one 5mg 1 daily, metroprolol succ 50mg er 1 daily. My blood preasure is regularily 117/73 pulse 53; 117/65 with 67 pulse, etc. I would like to start reducing at least one of them. Thanks. EM rucusa@gmail .com .

Hi,
It is good that you are maintaining a good blood pressure on drugs but it is always advisable to reduce the drug's under a doctor's supervision.
If your salt intake is less, you do exercise, take light foods and don't smoke, your clinician would be more than happy to do so.
