Is Removal Of All Teeth At Same Time Advisable For A Liver Transplant Patient?

i have been a pre-liver transplant patient for 3 years, no longer in need of a transplant at this time. most of my teeth are needing to be removed, i am also diabetic and have low blood, what are my risk of having them removed all at one time? apen dental said my gums are really infected, teeth impacted and broken off.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

As per your complain in case if you are a pre-liver transplant patient who does not at present need the transplant then you need not to be worried but first of all you need to consult your Physician and get evaluated as many a times if the liver has poor functioning then there can be increased incidence of bleeding due to reduced production of clotting factors..

I would therefore suggest you to undergo proper investigations like clotting time and bleeding time and prothrombin time done..
Along with it a complete blood picture and other investigations as per your medical history should be done..

Once you get a fitness done, then you can proceed with dental extractions but still I would advise you to proceed for extraction of 1 or 2 teeth at a time and do not go for full mouth extraction to prevent complications..

Hope this helps..

Regars.
