Is Removal Of The Bile Duct The Right Method Of Treatment For Polyps?

I have been told that I have polyps in my bile duct this was after gall bladder removal. test came back not cancer but they want me to have them removed. I have discomfort in my right side which had been years. I had hernia surgery a few years back. I am 58 Male and just feel that I should address areas that are causing discomfort before I have more surgery on my bile duct that they say May cause cancer. I have not insurance and is hard to be out of work. I feel a good check up to see where I stand for a better under standing of my health before I start things that May cause cancer. I have always had stomach issues Thanks

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query.
Well, polyps may be problematic since these may cause bile duct obstruction and it is justified to have a surgery to remove this diseased part of bile duct. It doesnt matter if there is no sign of cancer since these polyps may be precancerous lesions and carry a risk of future cancer development. Your symptoms may also be related to bile duct polyps. Of course, the final decision is up to you,but medically, such surgery is justified.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
