Is Removal Of Tonsils Safe When Diagnosed With A Bladder Infection?

I have an appointment tomorrow to get my tonsiles removed but today I just found out that I have a bladder infection. Will the doctor cancel my appointment? I ve only noticed pain while urinating 2 days ago and I don t have a fever. The doctor gave me a shot earlier to help speed up the process to get rid of the UTI but I am also taking the antibiotics.

Hi,
Thanks for writing in HCM.
I understand your concern about the operation scheduled for removal of tonsils.
The operation generally doesn't get cancelled and will happen as scheduled even if you have urinary tract infection.
You are already on antibiotic cover for UTI and hence tonsils can be removed.
But it is up to the ENT Surgeon to take a call regarding this.
Only thing is the antibiotics which you are using, if it would be the same thing prescribed post-tonsillectomy to prevent infection, it would be better.
