Is Root Canal Possible After A Bridge Is Placed On A Teeth?

My dentist put a bridge on which was very painful they did An xray and said that the tooth looks fine, take clindamycin and motrin for several days and if not better get an evaluation for a root canal. I wanted them to make sure the tooth was ok first. How would root canal be done now?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain firstly I would like to tell you is that if the bridge was placed on the tooth that was already painful is not an appropriate treatment and if the tooth is painful, first of all Root Canal treatment should be done followed by antibiotics and painkillers and once the pain resolves completely bridge can be placed..
As now the tooth is still painful, even now root canal treatment can be done either by removing the bridge or by drilling through the bridge itself.,
You should consult an Endodontist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray can be done for planning the treatment properly..
As of now if pain is severe you can take Ketorol or Tramadol..
For moderate pain Ibuprofen can be effective..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
