Is Root Canal Treatment Advisable For Intermittent Pain In Teeth?

Hi I have a question I have some teeth hurting on and off and I grind my teeth a lot and put a lot of pressure on them And they may have a cavity in them I'm not 100% sure do you think I'd have to have a root canal if the teeth are hurting a little only when I put pressure or grind on them they hurt

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have intermittent pain in teeth which is due to cavity or grinding of teeth. I would suggest you to visit dentist once and get X-ray of teeth done and start treatment as per level of exposure. If it is till pulp level then root canal treatment is required. If it is due to attrition you need to wear night guard. Maintain oral hygiene. You should brush and floss on daily basis. If there is presence of infection you should take antibiotics for 5 days. Avoid taking cold and sweet substances for few days.
