Is Scattered Non Enhancing Foci, T2/FLAIR Signal In The Periventricular And Subcortical Deep White Matter A Concern?

My MRI results say, a few to several scattered non enhancing foci o hyper intense T2/FLAIR signal in the periventricular and subcortical deep white matter, currently non-specific, possibly gloss. The largest of these measure 7mm located in the right temporoparietal white matter. What does this mean?

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

On your MRI report shoes periventricular and subcortical white matter changes which are which may be due to previous injury and gliosis. gliosis in simple terms refers to scar tissue in brain which may be due to either trauma or ischaemia(decreased O2 supply) or may be age related changes. You need not to worry much for that and require no treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
