Is Sepsis A Contagious Disease?

My dad almost died from septic shock due to an untreated UTI I m just curious if it s possible for him to spread any illness to me and my son since we live with him they sent him home with a catheter and he is not very hygienic so what are the odds and are there risks we should know about?
