Is Severe Left-sided Pain From Gas Over Several Days A Cause For Concern?

I have been suffering from severe pain on my left side the last 4 days. It appears to be gas. I have never had pain this severe from gas before. I have treated with over the counter products, ginger tea, and movement. They have reduced the pain. Is this a cause for alarm?
