Is Severe Nosebleed Caused Due To The Usage Of A Humidifier?

I had a fairly severe nosebleed in the middle of the night. Eventually, I called a neighbor over to help and she had me pinch my nose for 10 minutes while sucking on an ice cube, which helped stop the bleeding. But before that, it just bled and bled and bled, with large clots coming out of my nose and mouth. I d like to know the contributing factors. I have allergies and use Flonase. I sleep with a humidifier. I wonder if the Flonase is a contributing factor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Flonase can cause epistaxis but nosebleed for 10 minutes cannot be due to Flonase especially when you are using a humidifier.

I'd suggest consulting your doctor who can get BT, CT, PT, INR done to know the probable cause of this kind of nosebleed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
