Is Sexual Intercourse Safe If Having Irregular Periods?

me(23) and my gf(21). we have sex once in 3 months and so. and her periods are not regular and i have query is that do she get any health problem in future if we have sex regularly if so we can avoid having sex till her periods are regular and i have one more query that is it right to have sex at this age
