Is Shingles Vaccination Safe?

Hi... i am considering getting the Shingles vaccine, & i am allergic to sulfa, terramycin, & erythromycin... will any of these drug allergies present a problem for me? Also, i am a Polio survivor with Post Polio Syndrome & my immune system has occasionally reacted to some drugs, like just recently with a Prolia shot. The Dr. said it could not have been that, but i suddenly got lips full of herpes cold sores for the first time in my life, & got fungal skin infection all within 2 weeks of the shot. Thank you for your input. I will 62 in September & of course had the Chicken Pox... :) Should i get the Shingles Vaccine ?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

An allergic reaction would occur if you have a history of allergies to one of the components of the vaccine.
The vaccine components are neomycin and gelatin.

There should be no cross reaction because of your other drug allergies but you should confirm this with your doctor.

I hope this helps
