Is Sleeping Disorder A Normal Problem In Teens?

Hello Dr. Samuel. N. Grief, I have been having sleeping issues for a while now, but I m only 17. I go to bed every night very tired ( Im an endurance runner) but I wake up mutiple times during the night. Im worried this is a bigger problem- or if this is normal for a teenager. I ve always gotten atleast 8 hours straight everynight, so now I m flustered! Could it be genetic- like I m predisposed to it? I m not overly stressed, and don t eat before bed. Lastly, I phase through 4 ream cycles, which I ve heard is ultimately what one should do. Thanks!

Hello,

Usually, this might be a nearly normal situation specifically in teens or stressful situation. If it lasts you should consult your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Jnikolla, Pulmonologist
