Is Sore Throat A Sign Of HIV?

Hi there, about 5 weeks ago I had protected sex with a prostitute, I recently had a st I test, and came back negative, also received unprotected oral from her, about 1 week ago i developed a sore throat which will not pass, do I have hi v possibly. I can t sleep at all

Hello,am Dr Mahesh,specialist in HIV/AIDS treatment.First of all we dont know whether she is HIV positive or not.Then secondly test report states that you are not HIV infected.Also you need to check for possible other causes for sore throat like smoking,change in water/food/weather.Its always beneficial to have protected sex rather unprotected.and better to have single partner than multiple partners.Five weeks is more than suffecient to get the reasult as positive or negetive.In India in govt.hospital the test is free of cost provided by national AIDS control organisation and all reasults are confidential.
