Is Sore Throat During Pregnancy Harmful To The Baby?
im just concerned about my pregnancy cause im experiencing sore throat at the moment. im feeling weak and like about to get sick. im having pain when swallowing. is it some kind of tonsilitis? im wondering if it is dangerous to the baby? is there anything i could do to treat it? im 26 weeks pregnant.
During pregnancy, your immune system changes so that its main purpose is to protect your developing baby. This means that you can be more susceptible to the germs that cause coughs, colds and flu.
For sore throat try honey and lemon mixed in hot water, or try a linctus or cough medicine containing glycerine and honey. Throat lozenges may help, too. But dont take any medications without your doctors prescriptions
try warm water with salt gargling three times daily, it will sooth your throat
If nothing helps consult your doctor and he/she may prescribe appropriate antibiotics
