Is Sore Throat Related To Stomach Ulcer?

My friend has been diagnosed with a stomach ulcer, but he has often a sore throat as well, is this linked to the ulcer. He has had a sore throat for approximately 2 years now on and off. Could it be linked to the ulcer or should we be looking deeper into cancers. He has a very white tongue as well.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello and thank you for asking HCM,

I understand your concern. Stomach ulcer is conected with too much acid in the stomach. At some people this acid enters the oesophagus and can get upper and be the cause of soar throat. My suggestion is to visit ear, nose, throat doctor to check if this is really caused by acid. Until then, your friend should avoid late meals and lying with full stomach. He should also sleep with his head elevated.

I hope this answer was helpful to you.
