Is Sponge Knees Normal During A Contusion?

I injured my knee 3 weeks ago.I fell from about 3 to 4ft and landed on the concrete walkway and hit my R knee.I saw my PCP a week later and he said nothing was broken , just a contution.I noticed my knee feels sponge.Is this normal or should this be addressed.Thank you Chris LaRiccia
