Is Spotting A Sign Of Pregnancy?

I am a 27 year old woman and my last period was on May 22 2011. I am not on BC and me and my live in boyfriend has had sex unprotected this past 2 weeks we had a slip up on the June 2 did not have any sex the 3rd or 4th but did again on the 5th of june.. A few days ago i had some light spotting that had stopped before the day was out and have not bleed again.I know its not from an infection or anything because i have been uop to date with all of that. I dont know if these were signs of pregnancy or if i should just not worry, and if there is a chance how soon would i be able to take a test by stick or by blood sample b4 it would show up

Hallow Dear,

Your history of unprotected intercourses does suggest the possibility of pregnancy. The cardinal symptoms of early pregnancy are:

1. Missing a period.

The other symptoms start appearing about a week or 10 days later. They are:

2. Nausea and vomiting

3. Frequent urination

4. Breast Symptoms :(a) Engorgement and tenderness, (b) Darkening of nipples and areola with areolar widening, (c) Montgomery's tubercles under the areola, (d) Secretions from the nipples.

However, the pregnancy in early stage has to be confirmed by some laboratory or home tests.

Home pregnancy test is best reliable if performed on overnight early morning first urine sample a week after missed period. Earlier it may report false negative.

Beta hCG test on the blood is very sensitive and gives reliable results even few days before missing a period. 10 days after the last unprotected sex, it gives reliable results. In non-pregnant state, the values are 25 mIU/ml are diagnostic of pregnancy.

I hope this will help you today.
