My husband and I are trying to conceive, I am 32 and he is 42. I am 11 dpo and have been lightly spotting brown pinkish discharge since 7 days past ovulation. My period is due on 10-29-11...is this just my period starting? I have never spotted in any of my three previous pregnancies/births. I also have gotten negative pregnancy test this cycle. I am 5*6 and 154 lbs. I am also currently taking cymbalta and my husband has type 2 diabetes.
The slight bleeding you are having for last 7 days seems to bleeding due to corpus luteum deficiency.
Corpus luteum is the remnant of the follicle after the egg has been released. This organ is supposed to release Oestrogen and Progesterone hormones which maintain the endometrium for implantation of fertilised ovum.
Such diagnosis can be confirmed by endometrial study or by hormonal, particularly progesterone assay.
When this organ is week, it produced deficient quantities of the above mentioned hormones and thus there is intermittent or continuous bleeding of low to moderate degree. Such condition can be managed by Progesterone pills after ovulation. When pregnancy is desired, registrone like retroprogesterone medicine will not hamper the ovulation and conception and still will maintain the endometrium. Alternatively, Inj. hCG is useful which will maintain the endometrium and support the fertilized ovum.
Please report to your Gynaecologist for evaluation and management.
I hope this helps you today.
