Is Spotting And Delayed Period Sign Of Pregnancy?

I've been spotting for 13 days. I was supposed to start my period 8 days ago, but I haven't had to use a maxi pad-pantyliners have even been lasting all day. I engaged in intercourse about 6 weeks ago. I am 32 and have had regular periods. Should I be conserned?

Hi there, I have understood your concern. I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

1 ) First of all do not panic.

2 ) As you have history of regular cycles and also history of unprotected sex act, I will suggest you to get morning's first sample of urine urine tested for pregnancy.
In case of doubt blood beta HCG test and USG will be of help.

For the time being use of Mefenamic acid tablets will be helpful to control the bleeding or spotting,

3 ) In case your pregnancy test is positive, you can either continue with tour pregnancy or you can opt for termination of pregnancy with medicines safely till 9 weeks of pregnancy under medical supervision.

4 ) If your pregnancy test is negative, then you can simply wait for the onset of periods or induce the periods with a course of progesterone tablets. Your treating doctor can help you with the course and withdrawal bleeding of these tablets.

5 ) Also, gynec check up including per speculum and per vaginal examination will be of help to know if there is any underlying cause for your spotting like cervical polyp or erosion.
