Is Spotting, Bloating, Nausea And Abdominal Discomfort A Sign Of Pregnancy?
I feel that I may be pregnant. My lmp was April 14th 2011 and I had unprotected sex on April 27th. I have been seeing some signs such as bloating, nausea, mild cramping, abdominal discomfort, etc. My period is due this week and I am regular every month. I'm just a little concerned because today I am having the same mild cramps and noticed a very pale pink color on the paper. This discharge is only present when I use the bathroom. Is this a sign of pregnancy?
Pregnancy symptoms vary widely between women, and many of the same symptoms people associate with pregnancy like spotting, breast tenderness, bloating, nausea and mood changes can also been used by other hormonal factors. In addition, pelvic pain can also have many causes. Therefore, there is no way to know if you are pregnant based on symptoms, and the most common sign of pregnancy is missing your period.
So, if you are having unprotected sex and are at risk for pregnancy, I suggest performing a urine pregnancy test if you miss your period. If you do not, an examination by a gynecologist would be prudent to rule out any other causes of your irregular bleeding.
I hope I was able to adequately answer your question today and that my advice was helpful.
Best wishes,
Dr. Brown
