Is Spotting Normal After Taking Primolut N For Irregular Periods?

Hi, I have PCOS , used to use Diane 35 to have a period. My concern is, after I lost loads of weight, my periods started coming. However I fell and seriously damaged my toes and couldn t do the high intensity workouts that I used to do every day. I put on weight and for the past 3 months, I didn t have a period. I have used Primolut Nor in the past, took it for 7 days, stopped and I d see a period. I did see a period , have it now, but it s not blood, its more like that dark red colour when the period starts to fade out. Is this normal, should I be concerned or maybe because I didn t see a period for a few months, its taking its time for the actual blood to come? Thanks so much

Hi,

Because the blood is coming slowly, it may have a dark appearance, it is still blood, just dark. You may not have an entirely normal flow till the menstrual cycle regulates again.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
