Is Spotting Normal After Taking Ipill?

Hi, I started taking the pill to stop my period this morning, and had a second one this afternoon, I was just about to take my last one of the day but it appears that my period is now starting, very lightly lightly... Should I just stop taking them or carry on?

Hi,

Once the period starts it's because of natural withdrawal of certain hormone from menstrual cycle. Now while trying to stop the bleeding, the attempt is made to replace the hormone and continue menstrual cycle to run, thus try to stop bleeding. In such condition, spotting may continue till needed hormone reaches level to arrest menses from commencing. But if replacement is too late, period may start in spite of the pills. In such condition you can continue taking pills for 3 days. If bleeding stops continue them further but if bleeding continues even after 3 days of pills, you can stop taking and let bleeding be there.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
