Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 58 years old female and have not had a period for maybe 4-5 years now? Last week and this week, when I go to the bathroom (it doesn t happen all the time), I notice discoloration in my urine like I have my period. Should I be concerned about this and make an appointment with my doctor or is this normal? email: YYYY@YYYY
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Occasional spotting could happen after menopause for few more years until the bleeding stops permanently. However, if it happens in greater frequency and if the bleeding is more in quality with other associated symptoms like pain abdomen, then you need to be evaluated for the underlying cause. Kindly consult Gynecologist in such a case for clinical evaluation and appropriate management. Hope the information provided helps. All the best. Regards, Dr.Ashakiran.S., MBBS., MD.
