Is Steroid Medicine Safe During Pregnancy With Normal Ultrasound Report?

Hi Doctor, My wife is at 8th month of her pregnancy , while her last visit for 32 week scan and everythings normal (baby height,water, etc ) still doctor suggested steroid medication (2 injections). I would just like to ask , if is it compulsory or I hope it isn't harmful for baby and mother until time of delivery. Kindly advise

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
Corticosteroids has been assigned to pregnancy category C by the FDA( food & drug association). It means they are not safe & should not be given in pregnancy, unless there is some emergengy situation & steroids are needed.

Please check the injections given to your wife are steroids, as hormones are commonly given in late pregnancy. If they are steroids you should consult some other doctor.
