Is Streptomycin Necessary While Having Spinal Tuberculosis?

Hi my aunt has been diagnosed with tb spine, there is a small lesion at t2, fnac reports confirm that there is casesting necrosis. My unlce who is a physian himself has started her on akt4 only... My dad who also happens to be a doctor insists that he start her in streptomycin as well, is steptomycin necessary ?
