Is Strong Musky Smell In Urine Normal While Taking Methotrexate?

My name is Judy. My question has to do with a strong urine smell. I never noticed it before. I am 170 lb. 67 yes. Taking Methotrexate for RA. Taking 6-2.5 mg tablets every Friday w breakfast. Started April 10th. Have noticed a strong musky smell in urine. Is that to be expected¿

Hello,

The smell in the urine is a common adverse effect of Methotrexate. I recommend taking folic acid to reduce the smell and performing a urine bacterial culture, just to be sure that there is no infection.
