Is Sudden Heart Racing A Cause For Concern?

I am 33 year old and pretty healthy. Today it seems like my heart is racing. I don t feel out of breath but my fit bit says its 100 and all I m doing is sitting and folding laundry. When I try and stil still and take a readying heart rate it s about 84. This is not normal for me. Should I be concerned?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a transient response:

Generally, it will settle by itself. If symptoms persist better to consult a cardiologist and get evaluated. We have to rule out cardiac arrhythmia. You have to get an ECG for further assessment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
