Is Sudden Itching Sensation Along With Dryness Of Mouth Indicative Of Diabetes?
I have been itching all day and it's a little worse now. I'm trying to think of a cause. I have not eaten anything unusual. What could be causing this. It's very unusual for me to itch. I noticed that my mouth is often dry and I'm concerned that it could be diabetes.
Itching all over the body along with dry mouth is an indication that there can be some sort of allergic reaction. It can be due to any medication if you take or can be due to any food that you are allergic too.. Diabetes can cause dry mouth but dry mouth is not always suggestive of Diabetes..
So my suggestion is to consult a Physician and get evaluated and you can be advised allergic tests and if there is any doubt about diabetes you will also be advised investigations like fasting blood sugar, post prandial blood sugar and HbA1c levels. Treatment will be done accordingly..
As of now to relieve itching you can take anti histamines like Benadryl and to overcome dry mouth you can chew sugarfree chewing gums, suck tart candies and drink plenty of water..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
