Is Sugar In Urine Sample With Blood Sugar Being 132 A Cause For Concern?

So I had a physical today, during it I gave a urine sample. they said it showed a trace of sugar. They asked if I had eating before arriving for my appointment. I told them I did eat a breakfast samwich and drank a mountain dew on the way in about 30mins before arrival. They checked my blood sugar and it was 132. Is this something I should be concerned about or is it normal?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I have gone through your question and understood your concerns.

Having a blood sugar level of 132 after eating 30 min prior to testing is not a cause for concern. It is also normal to notice sugar in urine 30 min after eating.

If I was your caring doctor would advise to repeat the testing again, but, this time fasting for at least 8 hours.

Hope it was of help!
