Is Surgery Advisable When Suffering From Breast Cancer?

Hello, My Name is Laila and I am from Cincinnati Ohio. I have a sister lives in Jordan and was recently diagnosed with breast cancer metastatic deposit in the lower cervical and upper thoracic vertebrae. I was wondering if I can have a second opinion from a doctor specialized with this case. I will be responsible to pay for consultation. Please let me know as soon as possible. Doctors in Jordan stage her cancer with stage 4 but are not moving fast with treatment. She has been diagnosed and was going through tests and x-rays for almost 3 month. Her doctore decided hormon therapy and no surgery to remove the tumor or chemptherapy. Please help.

Hello,

If the tumor is in the 4 stage it means that surgery is not valuable anymore unfortunately because it is spread all over the body. Hormone therapy is a kind of chemotherapy more advanced and more specific than the older one. Please believe to her doctor and hope she will be better.

Management of breast cancer depends on the stage of cancer. In case of metastasis, chemotherapy and radiotherapy are given. Surgery is not of much use since the cancer has spread to distant sites.
