Is Surgery Needed For Disc Dislocation At L4-L5 And Compressed Nerves?
My wife is suffering from acute left leg pain for last 3-4 months. At the beginning, pain killers and muscle relaxants were given by doctors, but these did not work at all.Only narcotic analgesics would work to some extent. Finally by MRI it was revealed that there is disc dislocation at L4-L5 position and compressing the nerves.Doctors suggested medicines, physiotherapy and traction. There is a little improvement after 2 weeks traction ,physiotherapy and traction.Should she avoid operation? She is going out 3-4 days every week by bus and train by using lumbar belt.Should she continue her lifestyle or discontinue her going out?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, most of the time such degenerative disease well responds to physiotherapy and other conservative management, and it need to be given try first, and this is nothing to loose, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
