Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Impression: 1) tear involving the posterior horn and body segments of the meniscus. 2) Distal femoral, proximal tibial and proximal fibulae bone marrow edema compatible with contusions. 3) Degenerative changes with associated high-grade chondromalacia patella and intra-articulate debris 4) Small joint effusion with synovitis. 5) large leaking popliteal cyst Recent MRI results. Does this sound concerning? Does it sound like surgery could be needed?
The choice of surgery solely depend on symptoms, if you are symptomatic and experience severe pain, surgery will be a better option, surgical options like arthroscopic repair or a knee replacement may be required. Consult an orthopaedic and he will direct you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
