Is Surgery Recommended For Corpus Luteum Cyst In The Right Adnexa ?

Hi Doctor, My wife is having corpus luteum cyst in the right adnexa about 6.3 X 6.7 cm and my wife had a missed abortion at 9 weeks 4 days.She had a D&C last month.Doctor told to consult after a first period to examine the cyst.The doctor s suggetion is ,If the cyst size is not reduced,we have to do a key hole surgery to remove the cyst,other wise it may create the problem for the next pregnancy.So waiting for the first period.Strongly hope it will reduce automatically.Otherwise This surgery is recommended?.Please advice.Thanks in advance.

Welcome to healthcaremagic.com.The concerns about the cyst are not false.pregnancy can cause the cyst to enlarge and eventually rupture into the abdomen ,Such a large sized cyst is unlikely to regress on its own and hence the need to remove it if it persists into the next period.
