Is Suspicious Behavior A Symptom Of Paranoid Personality Disorder?
Hi doctor, My mother distrust people around her. She is suspiciious of other peoples intentions. Because of her behaviour, i am losing relatives day by day. She left my father then my supportive uncle, now she broke with other family members. She lives with my brother and i feel that her next target is him. I feel she has paranoid personality disorder. How can i help her?
Based on the history you have shared, she definitely needs to have a detailed review by a psychiatrist as the symptoms you shared doesn't justify any objective cause and needs psychiatric disorders to work up.
Also, concomitant psychological services with behavior modification therapies and group therapies may be needed along with the pharmacological treatments.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
