Is Swelling In Hands And Left Leg Heart Related?

My husband is in first stage of cll. Doctor decided to do a complete heart work up.. A blockage on left side behind heart was found. He is scheduled for left cath next week. He is complaining of swollen hands and left leg. Could this be heart related, Edema, or lymphodema? What is treatment or should doctor be notified?

Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like high blood pressure medications , congestive heart failure , cirrhosis , kidney disease or gout . I would suggest you to consult general practitioner for proper examination . Doctor may order complete blood profile , liver and kidney function test along with with taking history . Doctor may prescribe allopurinol , betablockers , diuretics or may refer you to nephrologist for kidney problem or cardiologist for haert problem .
