Is Swelling In Jaw Bones A Cause For Concern?

Hi I just returned form Cabo San Lucas on Saturday and started showing signs of Montezuma revenge. What I am most concerned about though is yesterday my jawline started to swell and this morning my whole lower jaw is swollen and I look like a cartoon character. Do I need medical attention?

Hi.
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain swelling of the lower jaw can be due to a number of causes like tooth infection leading to abscess formation, cellulitis, allergic reaction, salivary gland infections as well as obstruction of the ducts of salivary glands..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
As of now you can do cool compresses over the swelling..
Do not take any medication without proper consultation and diagnosis..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
