Is Swelling Of Nose & Eyes Associated With Sinus Infections?

I am 21 years old, 200 lbs, and 5 feet 5 inches in height. About a week ago I had a pretty bad sinus infection, and was put on antibiotics and finished them on Friday. Saturday I was out in the sun and my forehead had gotten completely burnt. Yesterday, Sunday, I noticed slight swelling on my forehead and now today, Monday I have major swelling in between my eyes and on the bridge of my nose. Could the swelling be related to either of these things or is this something more serious?

Hello,
By what you explain it is very unlikely the swelling between the eyes and on the bridge of the nose to be related to the sinus infection. Sinus infections generally effects inner layers of sinuses which are inside the bones of the face and should not normally give swelling on the skin.
If you have had a bad burn on your forehead this might better explain your symptoms. Burning causes swelling and redness and the area is tender. Burned skin is prone to infection which can also cause swelling, redness and tenderness. If there is a burned skin with vesicles it is not recommended to break the vesicles and the only thing to apply is sth to keep the skin hydrated, protect the skin from sunburn- this is very important.
To rule out infection you will need a doctor to have a look at you and in case it is infected he/she will prescribe antibiotics for you.
Prevention is better than treatment- is an expression in medicine so next time you will have contact with sun is very important to avoid midday hours under the sun, use sun block and a hat and if you have any burn on your skin apply immediately cold compresses for at least 20 minutes- this will help the burn to be localized and not too severe.
Hope this will answer to your question
