Is Swelling On Finger Symptom Of Fracture?

My daughter smashed her hand between a wall and a door yesterday and her middle finger knuckle closest to her hand is still bothering her. She can barely make a fist. She says it feels like it's dislocated, is that possible? It's hardly swollen and it's not bruised. Should we get it looked at now or wait a few more days and see how it is then?
