Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am two weeks open bowel resection and got my staples removed yesterday. My doctor said I could return to the gym for light cardio, when I felt I was ready. No lifting til I see him again in 4 weeks. I forgot to ask when I may return to the pool to swim?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. No, you should not go for swimming for 4 weeks more. You have just romoved staples. That means, your wound is still fresh. Swimming pool water is said to be full of organisms and is highly contagious. So better to avoid swimming for 4 weeks more. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
