Is Taking Buspar Safe For Anxiety?

Hi, I have severe anxeity, I take xanax and effexor, my Dr just prescribed Buspar, due to it getting out of hand, I don t like the side effects, she said they should subside, and wants me to keep trying, what is the most side effect? I will not take anything with weight gain....Thank You!

Buspar is safe than other anxiolytics with fever side effects. Most common are Dizziness, drowsiness, insomnia, nausea, stomach upset. Most dangerous one is allergic hypersensitivity that is common issue with every drug.
Consult doctor if become short of breath, feel chest tightness after taking it.
Weight gain is not an issue with Buspirone.
Other side effects like cogwheel rigidity, dystonia, parkinsonism etc are very rare.
