Is Taking Dolo 650 And Cefixime Safe For Typhoid Fever?

Hi,I am Sai, and I have been diagnosed Typhoid fever and the lab report saysTYPHI O 1:80 DILUTION positive TYPHI H 1:80 DILUTION positive .Doctor asked me to get admitted initially but I have a 8 month old baby and preferred course of tablets and rest from home. He advised me with the following medicines, just wanted to confirm as he had been continuously stating if it doesnt go well admission can cure it soon.the following are the medicines,1. DOLO 650 -3times 2. Cefixime Tablets IP Fexim-O 200 - 2 times(M,N) 3. Mucolin - 3times,4. Pantec(Before Food)-2 times(M,N) Total course of medicines - 5 days.Please help me to understand if this is the right medicine for typhoid and also suggest me if there is any diet to be followed.Thanks in advance

Thanks for posting your query on HCM.
I appreciate your concern for the safety of the medications prescribed for Typhoid fever.

Cefixime is one of the most effective antibiotics used in the treatment of typhoid but it should be used for at least 10-14 days. Cefixime is acceptable to use during breastfeeding.

The dosage of DOLO 65O is slightly high however if you do not have high grade fever you can reduce it to 500 mg three times daily.

Pantec is prescribed to prevent the acidity related stomach problems that can occur with the use of Cefixime.

Regarding the diet, avoid solid foods (like meat, rotee or chapatees), take liquid diet like yoghurt, upma, milk, along with fruit juices.
