Is Taking Medrol While On Keflex For Burning Sensation On Lips Advisable?

I had juvederm ultra xc injected 13 days ago. my lips are very swollen still including the skin area above the lip. burning and stinging. the pa who injected me put me on Keflex which I started 2 days ago but see no improvement just a layer of skin peeling of the lips making them burn more. now he ordered Medrol pack to take with the Keflex. I don t do well with antibiotics and will probably react from taking both. should I take the risk and do the Medrol too? I want the swelling to go down but afraid of more flares.

Understanding your concern . As per your query you are wondering if taking Medrol while on Keflex for burning sensation on lips advisable .The symptoms you mention in your query are pointing towards to condition an allergic reaction or infection. The allergic reaction can occur due to various reasons like food allergy, allergy from tooth paste or other dental product or excessive exposure to sun . Infection can be bacterial or viral. You may take Medrol as its is anti inflammatory , but on advice of doctor .I would suggest you to take over the counter antihistamine drug like benadryl ,keep your lip moist by applying lip balm containing broad spectrum sunscreen stop usin any product on face or inside mouth and ice packs .If condition still persist then consult dermatologist for proper examination and to rule out any other underlying disease. Doctor may order blood test and prescribe topical/oral antibiotics/antiviral depending upon the condition and topical steroid.
