Is Taking Metronidazole During Pregnancy Safe?

I am 31 weeks and starting taking metronidazole. Is this bad? I read in an article not take this medication during the first 3 months of pregnancy and to take with caution during te last 6 months? I feel fine and the baby is moving normally but I am just nervous.
