Is Taking Mirtazapine And Duloxetine Advisable For Depression In A Bi-polar Patient?
my son is 18 years old he has been diagnosed as bipolar, but we don t see any manic behavior only depression. the psychiatrist he sees wants to put him on nine pills a day. the pills are lithium carbonate, rexulti, mirtazapine, duloxetine, lamotrigine, and propanol. my husband and i are cocerned about all this medication. can you advise us?

Your concern is right, nine pills a day may be too much.
As a general rule, we do not advise all these drugs and only 2 or 3 drugs are needed. However, there may be reasons for your doctor to think so. You may discuss with him as he may explain the reason, or may take an opinion of another psychiatrist.
