Is Taking Mupirocin And TMP Safe For Oval Red Spots On Breast?

I have a breaking out or sore on my boob that just started 6 days ago, It started as a little red place. I toke my bath and I peeled a spot off. It turned in to a oval real pink(never seen the color before) and a large red area a round it. No itching no pain. I went to the Dr. and he took a picture and a culture and gave meds. It has turned into still oval shape and like a hard top or crust but looks some smaller. It is dry nothing coming out anywhere. The Dr .gave me these for 7 days. MUPIROCIN 2% 2X DAILY AND SULFAMETHOXAZOLE-TMP DS TABLETS 2XDS TABLET. I have the medical fielr for years. Got me baffled. Thanks for any help or ideas.
