Is Taking NyQuil Safe After Meth Withdrawal?

Is NyQuil safe to take if you are on meth withdrawal. It was my first time doing. Never again will I, but I have a sore throat and cannot rest. The only things I have is mucinex max. DayQuil and NyQuil. I don t want to jeopardize my recovery, even though I haven t felt any cravings for meth.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the Nyquil contains combination of Doxylamine, Dextromethorphan and Acetaminophen, widely used over the counter medicine for cold and cough purpose. It is not an absolute indication for meth withdrawal unless and until recommended by your consultant physician.

The Nyquil is known to cause drowsiness and sedation and hence not at all recommended for the safer recovery purpose of meth withdrawal. And to be still more precise, when there is no craving or any other systemic disturbances suffered, there is no need to get any medicinal support during this period of time.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
