Is Taking Piriton And Paracetamol Together Safe?

My son is 15 he went to a & e last night. He has a bite on his elbow, like a midge bite, his elbow is red and was swollen and he is in pain. They gave him antibiotics and we go back on Monday. The redness has moved out of the area they drew round last night.
I was wondering wether it is also safe for him to take piriton and paracetamol too ?
