Is Taking Ranitidine Tablets With Carbimazole Safe?

Hello Dr. Andrew Rynne, I am currently taking 10mg Carbimazole (also have celiac), on the weekend I had a few drinks and experienced heartburn/indigestion for the first time on Saturday. The pain is in my upper tummy, right in the middle of my chest under where my bra sits. I have taken Gaviscon, and Ranitidine tablets yesterday but I am still experiencing the pain. I just wanted to check that I am ok to carry on taking the Ranitidine tablets with the Carbimazole (and celiac) and if I needed to go see a doctor in person with having indigestion for 4 days now. Many Thanks Shell

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, you should take pantoprazole instead of ranitidine.
Your symptoms are due to acute gastritis because of alcohol drinking.
Pantoprazole ishq superior antacid as compare to ranitidine. So pantoprazole will give more rapidly relief in symptoms.
Pantoprazole is safe with other drugs like carbimazole. Ranitidine is also safe when taken with carbimazole.
So you can take ranitidine but if you have pantoprazole then take it for better result.
Better not to drink alcohol.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
