hi 26years old and i weigh 50kgs. am 15 weeks pregnant and in my previous pregnancy i was diagnosed with Intra uterine fetal retardation at seven months.the baby survived though i was induced at 35 weeks. In my current pregnancy, my gynacologist has prescribed Ascard-75mg to prevent the same from happening. Is it safe for my baby? Can it prevent the condition from recurring?
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns . Ascard 75 is aspirin which is given to increase the blood supply to the fetus. Intrauterine growth restriction can be due to many causes like decreased blood supply to the fetus due to pre eclampsia or any other reason, inadequate nutrition, or any chromosomal anomaly. Aspirin is usually given prophylactically to prevent such condition. It is safe for the fetus. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
